Explore Key West Tours
Dry Tortugas
Dry Tortugas National Park. Located on Garden Key about 70 miles west of Key West, this park is only accessible by boat or seaplane. Learn more: https://www.nps.gov/drto/index.htm.
Fort Jefferson. Explore a 19th Century fort on Garden Key, while also enjoying great snorkeling, bird watching, and history tours.

Big Pine Key
Get back to nature on the Fred C. Manillo Wildlife Trail. Located in the northern part of Big Pine Key.
Check out the Blue Hole Observation Platform, just to the west of the wildlife trail. It’s an old quarry that has been filled by area waters.
Just off the Overseas Highway at the west end of the key, check out the Pine Channel Nature Park.



Marathon

The Original Marathon Seafood Festival. More than 20,000 people attend this event annually — enjoy great seafood, a boat show, live entertainment, a military tribute, and 200+ vendors. This year it’s March 9-10, 2024: https://marathonseafoodfestival.com/.
Be sure to visit the Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters. This aquatic exhibit is great for kids, families, and anyone with an interest in marine life.
Just to the west of Marathon on Bahia Honda Key, check out and enjoy some great snorkeling. You also might like to visit Calusa Beach and Loggerhead Beach.



Islamorada
Be sure to visit the Windley Key Fossil Geological State Park. Go to Mile Marker 84.9 on Windley Key and walk the five trails, visit the old quarry, and take a look at all the fossilized coral!
You’ll also find the Florida Keys History and Discovery Center here. This another family-friendly site that provides a great overview of Upper Keys history.
If you want to do some tourity tarpon feeding, head over to Robbie’s at the very west end of Islamorada, on Lower Matecumbe Key. The fish are always hungry!
Just west of Robbie’s, check out Lignumvitae Key Botanical State Park. There’s a lot of good nature and history to see here.



Key Largo
Key Largo is the first stop on the drive west from Miami and Homestead. Be sure to visit Dagny Johnson Key Largo Hammock Botanical State Park. Located off County Road 905.
Another nearby state park to visit is the John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. There’s a lot to do here including snorkeling, diving, boating, canoeing, kayaking, and fishing.
Would you like to get close to some dolphins? If so, then visit Dolphins Plus Bayside. Another kid- and family-friendly cneter with great educational content. Be sure to visit Island Dolphin Care just down the road, too!
As you drive west into Tavernier, you may also want. to visit the Laura Quinn Wild Bird Sanctuary.
