Imagine yourself on the teak deck of a timelessly elegant clipper ship, a warm breeze blowing softly and in the background Vangelis 1492 Conquest of Paradise is playing as the Captain and his crew unfurl 54,000 square feet of sail above you. You begin to tingle from head to toe. As you sail into the sunset on to tomorrow’s next hidden cove, you sigh when you realize this is the most incredible experience you have ever had.
Star Clippers operates three of the world’s largest and tallest sailing vessels. Visiting ports often untouched by larger cruise ships and offering guests the activities, amenities and atmosphere of a private yacht, Star Clippers is recognized as one of the premier specialty small ship lines.
Star Clippers offers an experience that is at once modern and classic. With itineraries built on wind charts, Star Clippers’ ships are under wind power and sail as much as possible. The glorious masts and billowing sails make it clear from the start that you are embarking on a special voyage. Guests enjoy the romance of sailing aboard a true tall ship, in a relaxed atmosphere with high standards of service provided by an attentive crew. All three ships have expansive teak decks, swimming pools, informal dining, a convivial Tropical Bar on deck and a comfortable piano bar. Ships large enough to offer first class accommodations and dining, but small enough to call on intimate ports untouched by large cruise ships.
On Star Clippers, you are encouraged to help raise the sails, learn how to tie knots, visit the open bridge, lay in the bowsprit netting suspended above the rushing sea, and most unique of all, climb the mast to the Crow’s Nest for a stunning panoramic view. Or just relax in casual elegance and enjoy the high seas.
Star Clippers offers itineraries from 3 to 19 nights including sailings throughout the eastern and western Mediterranean from April – October, the Yachtsman’s Caribbean and Central America featuring Costa Rica, Panama, and Nicaragua from December – March, and Trans-Atlantic crossings and Panama Canal transits in the Spring and Fall as the ships reposition. Star Flyer and Star Clipper carry only 170 guests each with a crew of 74, while Royal Clipper carries 227 guests with a crew of 106. An intimate, casual, and relaxed private yachtlike experience on three magnificent tall ships. Come Sail Away!
